In January of 2023, we were given the opportunity to join Bank Negara Malaysia’s Sandbox Programme. This allowed us to test our digital life insurance solution with the appropriate safeguards prescribed by Bank Negara Malaysia.

However, the period of live testing has now come to an end. As part of the process, we will no longer be able to sign up new Fi Life policies or renew existing ones. However, through our website, you will still be able to sign up for life insurance policies underwritten by Tokio Marine Life Insurance Malaysia (“TMLIM”) distributed by our sister company, Fi Select.

We plan to apply to be a digital insurer and/or a takaful operator under Bank Negara Malaysia’s Digital Insurance and Takaful Operator (DITO) licensing framework in due course. If we are successful in becoming a digital life insurer or takaful operator, we hope that you will consider Fi Life again.

If your Fi Life policy is still in force, we will continue to provide the full coverage as stated in your policy document until your plan’s end date. However, it will not be renewed after that end date.

Yes. Claims can still be made through the customer portal on our website or by calling our customer support team at 03 8605 3306 .

For Fi Life policies, we don’t have a fixed date yet as the application will be an ongoing process with Bank Negara Malaysia. Keep checking out our social media channels, this webpage, or sign up for our mailing list for the latest updates.

However, through our website, you can still purchase a life policy issued by Tokio Marine Life Insurance Malaysia, which is distributed by our sister company Fi Select.

If you are a current Fi Life policy holder, we will send you an email with suggestions for alternative policies you may want to consider. If you would like to check out other available digital plans, feel free to visit www.lifeinsurance.com.my

If you are a current Fi Life policy holder, your premium will remain as stated in your policy document. But you will not be able to renew the plan after its end date. Any new policies we offer at a later date will be completely new and not based on your current or previous policy.
